Pedigree: Poppy has a mixed European pedigree that includes breeding with Kan Trace Lagotti from the renowned Croatian kennel, which specializes in producing high-winning champion pedigree truffle dogs.
Her great-great-grand-sire, CH Happy Tail, is a multiple Best of Breed winner and Best of Group placer. His sire, IT CH Benito, is highly decorated and competed at high levels in the 2025 Internazionale Chet. His dam also produced the historic Australian champion, MBIS Aust GCH Kan Trace at Greydove (Dante). Dante achieved major championships in Austria, including the first Lagotto BIS and Austria’s first Grand Champion Lagotto. He was titled Supreme Champion and multiple Best in Show winner.
She also carries the core Italian Delle Farnie line, which shaped the modern Lagotto behind countless champions worldwide. Her great-grand-sire, Loris Delle Farnie, was a top competitor who won #1 Excellent of Champions Best of Breed in the 2005 Expo-Club Italian Lagotto. The Delle Farnie line is one of the most historically significant Lagotto lines in Italy. It is common for high-quality Lagotto lines in Eastern Europe (Romania, Serbia, and Croatia) to trace back to the Italian Delle Farnie line. These working and truffle-hunting lines are often combined with confirmation lines.
The breeder Kan Trace Kennel in Croatia produced “Orca” (Multi BIS, BISS AM GCh Mult Ch Kan Trace Very Cheeky Chic “Orca”), #1 World Dog (2025), USA #1 Lagotto (2021), and #1 Sporting Dog, and #2 All-Breed Dog. Orca has over 36 Best in Show wins. Orca’s son, JCH Kan Trace Born To Be Wild “Bozo,” was Best of Opposite Sex World in 2026.

Both parents come from prestigious lines producing Lagotto champions in conformation (ideal breed structure and movement, temperament), as well as field and trial competition in truffle hunting and fowl retrieving. Traits include scenting ability, search pattern (efficient and intelligent field coverage), trainability, responsiveness to commands, drive and stamina, and accuracy. The lineage includes multiple world, international, and national champions across four generations.
CH Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Delmina IGDM (“Dam of Champions”) was his great dam. She sired his great-great-grand-sire, GCh Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Augusto, a champion in 16 different countries and still winning in the ring at age 7, as well as IGDM Alfredo (multiple World and European Championships). His great-grand-sire LK Bacci fathered many CKC and AKC champions. Additional notable lines include Italian Silvanbull and French Mas De Rognard. The LK and Curls Roc lines include Grand Champions in AKC and CKC, as well as LK GDM Mario, #1 CKC and #1 World Champion 2013.
The breeder IGDM produced the #1 Lagotto in the USA in 2023: IGDM Flocky & IGDM Negroni Sbagliato (Tito), both International Grand Champions with multiple titles, including #1 Group-winning Lagotto in the USA (2019) and AKC Best in Show winner (2019).
